Coachella Survival Guide

Today is the first day since I got back from Coachella four days ago that I actually feel normal. I swear, it took me that long to fully recover. & no, not recover because I was so hungover, but more like I’ve been so exhausted.

Waking up at 3am on Friday, flying to LAX & then driving to Coachella, & not going to bed until 2am that night was just the beginning of my Coachella weekend.

Coachella consists of little sleep, a lot of activities to do, an insane amount of walking & standing, early mornings, & concerts that go into the AM. SO YEAH, my body isn’t used to that much go-go-go, therefore it took way too long to recover. HA! It’s actually pretty funny that Coachella kicked my ass that bad, but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

I’m here today to share with you on how you can survive Coachella (or really any music festival). & I’m thinking I’m going to do a three part series to Coachella so stay tuned!

∴ The festival starts on a Friday so get there on Thursday. Getting there early gives you time to settle in, run to the store to get last minute supplies, have a pre-party, & actually get some sleep in!

∴ Each day get to the festival at least two hours before the person you want to see performs. This gives you the time to get to the festival, take any pictures, get drinks or food, & use the restroom. If you get there earlier than that’s even better.

∴  Once you’re at the festival, you most likely won’t leave until the last performance is over so bring a light jacket to wear in the evening (I didn’t but it would have been nice).

∴ Wear comfortable shoes because you do SO much walking. I seriously mean this. I’ve experienced a lot of festivals and I don’t think I’ve ever walked so much. If you’re like me and want to wear heels or platforms, then cover your feet in bandages. It really helps so much!

∴ Bring in empty water bottles to fill at the water stations, & drink a ton of water. You don’t want to keeping buying new ones because it costs money & creates more waste. Oh yeah, if you’re sneaky about it, sneak in your own shooters because drinks are sooo expensive!

∴ Take a break in the evening to eat a protein packed meal to keep you full. It’s also nice to just sit, take in the surroundings, & enjoy some good food. We had the Impossible Vegan burger the last night and it was so good!!

∴ Wear sunscreen and bring sunglasses. We didn’t have sunglasses the first day and we were like why in the hell don’t we have sunglasses!? The sun is BRIGHT and HOT, sunglasses and sunscreen are important.

∴ Being sober at Coachella is just as much fun as being drunk. It’s an experience, one you definielty want to remember so try the sober thing for a night.

∴ You’ll go to bed at 4 or 5am every night, or technically every morning, lol. So TRY to sleep in, but don’t sleep too late otherwise you’ll get to the festival late and you’ll miss performances.

What have I missed?? I clearly need all the survival tips I can get since it took me days to recover!

xx, Aubrianna
