How to Take Care of Your Skin The Right Way

Hi, hello! What’s up?

I’ve just been on a “take care of your skin” kick lately, but I’m loving it.

Here’s the thing, I get it- I get that you hear so many different things when it comes to what you should do with your skin. Everyone has different skin from one another, and that means everyone needs to use different products on their skin to get the results they want. Some people have acne prone skin, dry skin, oily skin, inflamed skin, or they suffer from under eye bags. Like I said, I get it. But that’s why I’m not here today to tell you what products you should be trying. I’m here today to explain what most people should be doing to their skin on a daily basis.

It includes 4 simple steps that everyone can follow!

1 – Steam

You could go real fancy with this and buy a steamer online. You could also stand in the shower with hot water going and steam your face that way. My personal favorite is setting a warm wash cloth on my face. Steaming opens up your pores so your products can absorb into your skin more throughly.

2 – Exfoliate

Exfoliating shouldn’t be done daily. I exfoliate 2-3 times a week, but sometimes I’ll do it 4 times. Exfoliating gets the dead and dry skin off, while also promoting cellular turnover. When you exfoliate, you’re allowing your products to better absorb into your face. You can’t hydrate or moisturize dead skin or dry skin, which is why exfoliating is so good for skin (this includes your body too). You can find the exfoliant that I’ve been loving in this post!

3 – Hydrate

How you hydrate is by using a serum. Serums are different than moisturizers, they’re lighter weight and their job is different. A serums job is to hydrate the skin from underneath by penetrating the skin to a deeper level. Hydrating with serums allows the skin to become tighter, smoother, and of course, more hydrated.

4 – Moisturize

A moisturizer is usually on the heavier side, there’s a thicker consistency to it. Their job is to help moisturize the skin so the top layer of skin doesn’t become dry. If you suffer from inflamed skin, this step is really important because if you’re moisturizing with the right cream, you can bring that inflammation down. It’s even better if the moisturizer has SPF in it because then you’re taking preventative measures by preventing sun damage.

See, I told you, simple steps everyone can follow that get right to the point! I share the serum I’ve been using in this post, if you’re interested. & I know washing your face isn’t in these steps, but I feel like most people know to wash their face. These steps are the steps that people aren’t aware of or don’t feel like they need to do.
