Spring Cleaning Checklist

Spring is in the air in Denver! That doesn’t mean we can’t be hit with snow sometime in March but until then, it has consistently been in the 60’s or 70’s. With spring in the air & a new season upon us, I get the urge to organize, purge, super clean, & redecorate. I like to embrace new seasons, therefore my apartment needs this.

While I was cleaning my porch off yesterday, I got this idea to do a blog post on this! What to clean for the Spring season, how you can organize your home, & what you can purge. I also believe when you take care of your home, you feel better. Your home should be one of your safe spaces where you can decompress & relax. I think taking these necessary steps of cleaning & organizing gets you that outcome.

:What To Clean:

+ Clean surfaces & floors with an all natural cleaner. I really like the Thieves cleaner by Young Living

+ Carpet clean your carpets with hot water & a very small amount of soap. Make sure the soap or cleaning product is safe for animals, if you have any. I got my carpet cleaner off Amazon for $80. A carpet cleaner is a MUST if you have animals & carpet

+ Wash your bedding, living room blankets, & rugs

+ If possible, wash your couch pillows & couch covers. The covers over our couch cushions unzip and come right off, so I wash those every couple months

:What To Purge:

+ Purging your dressers & closets of unnecessary clothes is the best feeling. I feel like an excess of clothes causes clutter

+ Bathroom & kitchen cabinets is another great area that seems to accumulate items that aren’t always needed

+ Any sort of storage space or closet you have

:What To Organize:

+ After the purging comes the reorganization! Perhaps you decide to color-coordinate your closet (one of my personal favorites). The Container Store or Amazon have great storage bins to organize big & small spaces

+ Reorganizing your bathroom cabinets is extremely satisfying, especially when you’ve purged two bags full of items you don’t need

+ I tend to reorganize my fridge & pantry. Switching things up always does me some good. As you live life, things can become unorganized and tossed in areas they aren’t meant to be in and that’s where this category comes in to play

Let me know what I’m missing as far as cleaning & organization goes! I’m always willing to step up my game.

Happy (almost) spring time & happy cleaning!

xx, Aubrianna
