Taking a day for yourself to do some self-care is good for your soul & your sanity. We give & give & give to everyone around us. It can be liberating but also very exhausting. Which is why I believe a self-care day is, like, mandatory every once in awhile.
Last weekend I decided it was time to step it up and take the necessary time I needed for myself. Feel free to chime in at any point if you have a good self-care routine down. I’m always open to making improvements.
+ Yoga in the AM, like that’s how I’m starting my day (I love doing this so much)
+ But before yoga, I oil pull & then brush my teeth
+ After yoga, getting cupping, acupuncture, or a massage is the most ideal combination. I prefer cupping over all three because it’s relatively cheap and really helps to relieve my back pain & helps reduce tension/stress that I hold in my back
+ Then once I’m home, I lather my hair in a coconut oil hair mask for 3 hours & get some chores done (multitasking as its finest)
+ While my hair mask is setting, I dry brush & then take an extremely hot detox bath with Epsom salts & essential oils. & read a good book
+ Then I shower & shave, use my favorite body scrub, & wash out my hair mask
+ Finally, I steam my face with a facial steamer to create optimal hydration & put on a hydrating face mask. But never forget to put a good serum on after the face mask with some facial oil. This superfood facial oil from Elemis is a great option
A self-care day can also include sleeping in until 11, eating a doughnut for breakfast, & spending the entire day on the couch. The simplest days can be the best days that you have!
