Hello from my couch while watching SOA. This will be my fifth time watching this series & I’m not mad about it. Jax is without a doubt my celebrity crush. Who can relate, lol?
A couple weeks ago, I posted a new YouTube video about how you can utilize ginger three ways! If you click here, it’ll lead you to the video. But I decided I’ll share a blog post on this so I can go a bit more into detail. Ginger is a phenomenal spice to keep in your kitchen due to its medicinal properties it offers.
This could be considered a type of immunity tea because of the benefits fresh lemon & ginger have. To prepare this tea, steep fresh lemon slices & ginger chunks in hot water. Drinking this on an empty stomach is my preferred method, that way I feel like my system really absorbs the benefits to the fullest. Fresh lemon aids in boosting your immunity due to its Vitamin C & aids in healthy digestion while providing hydration.
These three ingredients make up one of my favorite smoothies. It’s also a good way to sneak ginger in if you find the taste to be too strong, and a smoothie is always refreshing to drink with warmer weather. The best consistency happens when you use 1 frozen banana, a few chunks of frozen mango, & a couple chunks of fresh ginger. Blend them all together & you have a great smoothie that you can eat anytime of the day.
I learned about a ginger foot bath from a client of mine who’s a health nutritionist. This foot bath is great to alleviate cold symptoms or in the middle of your sickness. The benefits of this foot bath is that the ginger promotes heat, which could aid in releasing toxins & viruses from the body through the pores of your feet. To begin this process, you submerge your feet in a tub full of hot water (as hot of water as you can handle it), with approximately 1-2 cups of organic ginger spice. It’s best to buy the ginger in a bulk package. You’ll soak your feet for roughly 30 minutes, but expect to feel a slight burning sensation- its from the ginger.
I’m not a certified health nutritionist so speak to your doctor before doing the foot bath. As for the tea & smoothie, let me know how you like them if you decide to make them!
